Writing

Journalism

As a writer at Southern California newspapers and magazines, I’ve seen families grappling with crises and finding strength in love. I’ve met hopeful couples pushing hard to open businesses in their living rooms. I’ve watched singers and actors share with audiences their most urgent discoveries about what it feels like to be human. And I get great satisfaction from sharing all that with readers.

Copywriting

As a copywriter, I have lately been working with clients focused on creating Web sites for certain aspects of the health-care industry. With a broad base of knowledge and the inquisitive nature to find out what I don’t yet know, I can contribute intelligently to your written marketing efforts. Please contact me for examples of this work.

Testimonial

Richard Block has no difficulty grasping and dealing with stories that present multiple angles and perspectives  … His handling of the public is extremely impressive. He is diplomatic and sympathetic, while at the same time he maintains control of the interview and keeps his source on track. Richard is a professional journalist and a valuable asset to the Champion.
